Vermont Trout in the Classroom

Vermont Trout in the Classroom (TIC) is part of a nation-wide environmental education program in which students raise brook trout from eggs before releasing them in a state-approved stream. Trout Unlimited (TU) sponsors TIC in Vermont and the state’s five TU chapters provide volunteers to each participating classroom.

Joe Mark, a board member of the Southwestern Vermont Chapter, serves as the coordinator for TIC in the state of Vermont. The program is active in more than 85 Vermont schools and always looking for more classrooms that would like to participate, as well as donors who would like to sponsor equipment purchases.

Please visit the Vermont Trout in the Classroom website for more information or contact Joe Mark, Lead Facilitator, at joe.mark@castleton.edu or 802-236-3816.
